Success in a hostile environment depends on an organization's capacity to control the supply chain. Businesses now rely heavily on the supply chain management process to manage costs, increase economic efficiency, maintain competitive advantage, and boost organisational efficiency. The article demonstrates through the analysis of both primary and secondary data that only a small number of businesses in the apparel supply chain are interested in the supply chain management process; the processes of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Manufacturing Flow Management (MFM), Product Development and Commercialization Strategy (PDAC) have a positive impact on the company's competitive advantage and efficiency. The article also makes some suggestions for how firms and the government might enhance the supply chain management system to increase organisational efficiency.
