Abstract:

This paper examines the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourist arrivals in Jharkhand, a state renowned for its holy sites, hills, and waterfalls adorned with picturesque mountain ranges, rivers, lakes, and diverse flora and fauna. Jharkhand boasts a rich cultural tapestry featuring numerous folk dances and local festivals, particularly among its varied tribal communities. The state’s expansive forest cover presents significant opportunities for eco-tourism. However, the tourism sector faced considerable setbacks due to the lockdowns and travel restrictions imposed by the government during the pandemic. Consequently, there is a pressing need for the Department of Tourism to formulate and implement effective policies that address these challenges and foster the sustainable development of tourism in the state. The present piece of work is purely theoretical in nature, and the authors tried to make some exploratory exposures and insights into the aforementioned topic..
