Abstract:

This article studies the link between Digitalization development and economic growth in a panel of 3 Gulf Cooperation Council countries, namely, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, from 2010 to 2021. In the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, we discover a favorable correlation between the progress of digitization and economic development utilizing the generalized method of moment (GMM) estimator for linear dynamic data from panel systems. The policy suggestions of this study recommend that approaching the global level and realizing opportunities for the industry to leverage digitalization, integrate digitalization into the workplace, and provide good knowledge of digital infrastructure will improve economic performance in the digital economy era. Also, the results offer a basis for policymakers to better formulate policies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
