Abstract:

This report outlines educational challenges in Trichy, India, including high dropout rates, unaffordable education, teacher shortages, and infrastructure gaps in 80% of schools. It urges government action to address these issues, particularly in public schools facing absenteeism and mismanagement. The proposal suggests creating an interactive teaching tool for rural schools, promoting quality education at an affordable cost. Various initiatives by government and non-government organizations are discussed, aiming to uplift marginalized children. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study highlights positive impacts such as improved literacy and cognitive development despite persistent challenges like infrastructure constraints and teacher shortages. Key recommendations stress the need for sustained investment in educational resources for disadvantaged children. The report concludes as a valuable resource for those interested in ongoing efforts to improve educational opportunities for Trichy's disadvantaged youth.
