Faisal Aljuhani. "Systematic Review of Social Entrepreneurship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Trends, Challenges, and Future Directions" International Research Journal of Economics and Management Studies, Vol. 3, No. 3, pp. 109-113, 2024.
This systematic review examines the current state of Social Entrepreneurship (SE) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), with a particular focus on the challenges, trends, and future directions within the context of Saudi Vision 2030. Drawing from 21 articles spanning from 2013 to 2023, the review synthesizes findings across multiple dimensions, including financial accessibility, entrepreneurial intentions, economic security, the role of women, entrepreneurial orientation, policy influence, and sustainability. Key findings indicate that while SE in KSA faces challenges such as financial infrastructure inadequacies and cultural barriers, it also holds significant promise for economic diversification and social development. The review also identifies a positive shift in the inclusion of women and youth, emphasizing the role of policy in shaping a conducive environment for SE. The paper concludes with strategic recommendations for policymakers, educators, and practitioners to foster a thriving SE ecosystem that aligns with the Kingdom’s socio-economic objectives. The findings highlight the need for further research, particularly in the areas of long-term impact, scalability, and support structures for social ventures.
