Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play a critical role in addressing the social, economic and environmental challenges faced by societies globally. The success of nonprofit organizations in fulfilling their missions and achieving lasting impact is often closely linked to funding sustainability and reliability. Traditional funding sources such as grants and donations are becoming increasingly volatile and competitive, prompting NGOs to seek varied fundraising strategies. Diversification of funding sources has emerged as an important strategy to ensure the long-term sustainability of organizations. Armed with good dependency management, NGOs can be more resilient to economic fluctuations, adaptive to donor preferences, ensure sustainable programs and maintain operational stability. NGOs in Indonesia face unique challenges, with more than 300,000 organizations competing for limited resources, creating real competition. Many Indonesian NGOs struggle with financial sustainability due to the lack of a comprehensive fundraising strategy and reliance on international aid. Yayasan Teratai Putih Yogyakarta (YTPY), located in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, is a case study of such challenges. The purpose of this research is to identify the most suitable fundraising initiatives for YTPY using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, as well as propose strategies that will enable the organization to become more resilient and sustainable. The results of this study mentioned that the utilization of social media is a fundamental strategy in the effort to gain potential donors. Furthermore, this research concludes that a special team needs to be formed in order to handle YTPY’s public relations, media, marketing and promotion affairs.
