Abstract:

This study examines the relationship between financial development, economic growth, and the dissemination of information and communication technology (ICT) in a panel of three Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations—Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates—from 2008 to 2022. Through a panel data analysis using the GMM system, we demonstrated that financial development and economic growth are positively correlated. We also demonstrated how ICT complemented the relationship between money and growth. In order to increase the impact of the relationship between financial development and the diffusion of ICT in generating economic growth, the research findings emphasize the necessity of encouraging the use of contemporary financial technologies and accelerating the shift to digital financial services through the utilization of existing structures (the Internet and communication services).
