Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted European economies, necessitating unprecedented fiscal responses from governments across the continent. As economies begin to recover, there is a growing need to reassess and adapt existing fiscal rules to accommodate the post-pandemic landscape. This paper examines the evolution of fiscal rules in Europe after the COVID-19 crisis, exploring the challenges faced by policymakers and discussing potential strategies to foster sustainable economic growth while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
